This Privacy Policy explains how Abel Seguros collects, uses and protects your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable Portuguese legislation.

1. Who is the data controller

The controller of your personal data is Abel Veredas, Insurance Agent, registered with the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF) under no. 322 576 504, associated with Verspieren Portugal – Corretores de Seguros, and a member of APROSE (Member 5956).

2. What personal data I collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect:

  • Identification data: name, email, phone number
  • Data provided through the contact or quote request forms (e.g. type of insurance required, message sent)
  • Data exchanged via WhatsApp, when you choose to contact me that way (WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., subject to its own privacy policy)
  • Browsing data on the website, through cookies (see our Cookie Policy)

I do not collect sensitive data (such as health data) through the website — where such data is needed to prepare an insurance proposal, it is collected only in the context of direct consultation, with your explicit consent, and never through public forms on the website.

3. What I use your data for

  • Responding to your contact or quote requests
  • Preparing and sending insurance proposals suited to your situation
  • Providing the insurance mediation service you have engaged
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations as an Insurance Agent
  • Sending informative or promotional communications, if you have given your consent
  • Improving the operation of the website and your browsing experience

4. Legal basis for processing your data

  • Consent, when you fill in a contact form or subscribe to communications
  • Performance of a contract, when you are already a client and I provide the insurance mediation service
  • Compliance with a legal obligation, within the scope of the activity regulated by the ASF
  • Legitimate interest, to respond to requests for information and improve the service provided

5. How long I keep your data

Data collected through the contact forms is kept for as long as necessary to respond to your request or, if you become a client, for the period required by the legislation applicable to insurance and insurance mediation. After that period, the data is securely deleted or anonymised.

6. Who I share your data with

Your data may be shared with:

  • Insurers, solely for the purpose of preparing proposals and taking out policies, and only with your knowledge
  • Zoho Corporation (Bigin CRM), to manage contacts and requests received through the website and, if you have given your consent, to send informative communications by email
  • site.eu, as the entity responsible for the technical hosting of the website

These entities act as processors and are contractually bound to process your data only for the stated purposes, in accordance with the GDPR. I do not sell or share your data for third-party marketing purposes.

7. International data transfers

The service providers listed above operate within the European Economic Area or provide equivalent safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission), ensuring an adequate level of protection for your data.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request the erasure of your data, where applicable
  • Object to processing or request its restriction
  • Request the portability of your data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt
